In the sixth year of King Anjong’s reign in Joseon, the royal concubine Kang Dan-sim—once the King’s favorite but later branded in history as a notorious femme fatale—is sentenced to death by poison.

Resentful of King Anjong, who used and ultimately discarded her, and of a world that failed to protect her, Dan-sim drinks the poison and plunges into the water. Meanwhile, in 2026 Seoul—more than three centuries later—Shin Seo-ri, a former child star now struggling as an obscure actress relegated to bit parts in historical dramas, finds herself in mortal danger.

Just as both Kang Dan-sim in Joseon and Shin Seo-ri in the modern era stand at the brink of death, a mysterious force causes their souls to swap places.
